Maybey your capturing at a high res for your computer. Your cpu will take a big strain from frapsing, so try to lower the screen capture size, or better yet, try to fraps in half screen to see what it's like.

I had this problem when i tried to play eve in sli mode. So i changed to 1 gpu, being a laptop i dont think this would be your cause for obvious reasons, but I wonder if its a related problem? Are you running an Nvidia gpu?
